Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver exceptional training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, and values. You'll educate on training benefits, conduct classes per curriculum, and ensure safety while driving sales and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns and delivering training services.
- Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule sessions, clean training areas, and create safe environments for people and pets.
- Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, transport to vets, and assist other departments as needed.
- Serve as training expert for store associates, recognize contributions, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, animal exposure, and moderate noise.
