Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety, education, and outstanding outcomes in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
- Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Serve as training expert for store associates and recognize sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise.
