Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers exceptional training experiences, educates pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. Based in Elk Grove, California, this role combines pet expertise, customer engagement, and retail operations to ensure safe, positive outcomes for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to sell and deliver training classes.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in training areas; respond to pet health issues.
- Educate associates as subject matter expert and recognize contributions.
- Handle paperwork, scheduling, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Assist other departments and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a dynamic pet environment.
