Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Elk River, Minnesota, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive outcomes while contributing to store success. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and resolve pet parent concerns via phone, in-person, or online.
• Sell classes proactively and recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain paperwork, schedules, clean training areas, and safe environments.
• Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and recognize team sales efforts.
• Uphold policies, participate in Belonging & Recognition culture.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
