Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in our Escondido store, you'll engage customers in-person, by phone, or online, selling classes and ensuring safe, fun sessions aligned with our proven curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences and resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes across channels.
• Maintain all training paperwork and store cleanliness.
• Educate associates as the local pet training expert.
• Ensure safety, handle sick/injured pets, and recommend merchandise.
• Assist other departments and follow company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Physically, expect standing, lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas.
