Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training per our proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while fostering a welcoming store environment. This role suits animal lovers with retail savvy, offering flexible hours and hands-on pet interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions, prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
- Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain records, schedule sessions, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services, and assist other departments.
- Recognize team contributions and embody company values.
Experience & Skills
Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Excel with computer proficiency, composure under pressure, strong communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs amid pet hair and moderate noise. Flexible scheduling essential.
