Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Findlay, Ohio, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive reinforcement training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while upholding our mission. This dynamic role suits animal lovers with retail experience, offering flexibility across evenings, weekends, and holidays in a pet-filled environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
- Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and a clean/safe training area; respond to sick/injured pets.
- Serve as store training expert, educating associates and recognizing sales contributions.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of recognition.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
- PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
- Computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure.
- Flexible availability; physical ability to lift 50lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate noise/wet conditions.
Physical Demands
Stand, stoop, lift up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), exposed to pets, hair, noise, and mechanical parts. Depth perception essential; accommodations available.
