Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, and values. Based in Flanders, New Jersey, you'll actively promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safe, fun environments that drive customer satisfaction and sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits across channels.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
• Serve as subject matter expert, training associates and recognizing sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Physically, expect standing, lifting up to 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments.
