Role Overview

PetSmart Pet Trainers deliver positive reinforcement-based training classes, engage pet parents, and drive sales of our proven curriculum. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail pet environment. Accredited instructors ensure safe, fun experiences while upholding company values.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, assist other departments, and recognize team sales efforts.
• Follow all policies, contribute to a culture of belonging, and recommend merchandise/services.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled settings.
