Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Fountain Valley location, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and excellence in every interaction. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to excel in a dynamic pet retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Create safe, clean training areas and respond to sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
• Train store associates on pet training, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
