Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences for pets and owners while upholding company values. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services/merchandise, and cross-train in other departments.
• Recognize team contributions and foster a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays, and handle live animals in a dynamic store environment.
