Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers exceptional training services, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of positive pet experiences. Based in Garner, North Carolina, this role involves hands-on training, sales, and store support in a dynamic pet retail setting. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training classes via phone, in-person, or online, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Actively promote and sell training programs to pet parents.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in training areas.
- Handle pet health issues promptly, including vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments and recognize team contributions.
Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in pet hair/wet environments with moderate to high noise. Exposure to live animals is daily.
Experience & Skills
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
- PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation required.
- Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure.
- Computer proficiency and scheduling flexibility.
