Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our Gastonia location, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Accredited instructors like you educate on our proven curriculum, sell classes, and ensure safe, fun environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while promoting curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
- Educate store associates as the pet training expert and recognize sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
