Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in Germantown, Maryland, this role involves hands-on training, sales, and safety management in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to sell and deliver training classes.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and ensure clean, safe training areas.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
- Educate associates as pet training expert and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
