Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, and values. Based in Glenmont, New York, this role involves educating on training benefits, conducting classes, and driving sales while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns and ensuring positive outcomes.
• Proactively sell training classes and merchandise across channels.
• Educate associates as the local training expert and recognize contributions.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas safe and presentable.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets and moderate noise.
