Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in our Gonzales, Louisiana store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales to help pets thrive and build lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, ensure class safety, and keep areas clean.
- Serve as training expert for store associates, recognizing sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
