Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Grandville, Michigan, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Educate on training benefits, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean environments while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Customer Engagement
Lead classes per curriculum, handle inquiries via phone/in-person/online, resolve concerns, and sell training packages. Educate associates as subject matter expert.
Operations & Safety
Maintain paperwork/scheduling, keep areas clean, recognize sales contributions, respond to pet emergencies (including vet transport), and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
1-2 years customer-focused retail; PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation; computer proficiency; composure under pressure; flexible availability; strong organization/communication.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure. Depth perception essential.
