Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Accredited instructors actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales in a dynamic store environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential in this hands-on role involving pet interaction and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to sell and deliver training classes.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule sessions, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Educate associates as training expert and recognize sales contributions.
• Follow policies, participate in recognition culture, and ensure positive outcomes.

Experience & Skills

Require 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Vision for depth perception needed.
