Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver exceptional training experiences aligned with our vision and curriculum. You'll sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to a welcoming store environment in this dynamic, pet-loving role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
- Actively promote and sell training classes across channels while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and keep areas clean/safe.
- Handle pet emergencies, recommend products/services, assist other departments, and recognize team contributions.
- Serve as training expert for store associates and participate in our culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
