Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Halifax, Nova Scotia, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and excellence in every interaction. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to empower pets and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Create safe, clean environments for classes and handle sick/injured pets, including vet transport if needed.
• Train store associates on pet training, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Required Qualifications

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and computer proficiency.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays; composure under pressure.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment with occasional wet areas or mechanical parts. Depth perception required.
