Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in our Hamilton, New Jersey store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and outstanding customer service in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns promptly.
- Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes, and keep areas clean and safe.
- Serve as training expert for store associates and recognize their sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/animals.
