Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Actively sell classes, manage sessions, ensure safety, and collaborate across departments in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns and drive sales.
- Educate on full training curriculum benefits; schedule per company guidelines.
- Maintain clean, safe training areas; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Act as training expert for store associates; recognize contributions.
- Recommend merchandise/services; assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment.
