Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive curriculum. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun learning for pets while upholding company values.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and store areas for cleanliness/safety.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing associates and fostering a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, animal handling, and moderate noise exposure.
