Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Accredited in our Training Instructor Course, you'll engage customers across phone, in-person, and online channels while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pet training classes following PetSmart curriculum, ensuring safe environments for pets and people.
• Actively sell classes, recommend merchandise, and resolve pet parent concerns.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule sessions, and educate store associates as the training expert.
• Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and keep training areas presentable.
• Participate in company policies, recognition programs, and cross-department support.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Thrive under pressure with organizational detail, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise and occasional wet conditions.
