Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive pet training curriculum. This role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer education, and store collaboration to ensure safe, fun learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
• Serve as training expert for store associates, recognizing their sales contributions.
• Handle pet welfare issues promptly, including vet transport if needed, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in pet-filled environments with moderate noise. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
