Role Overview

Our Pet Trainers are the heart of positive pet experiences at PetSmart in Hoffman Estates, IL. You'll engage pet parents, deliver expert training using our proven curriculum, and drive sales while ensuring safety and fun for all. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and keep areas clean/safe.
• Serve as training expert for store associates, recognizing sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend services, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, pet handling in moderate-noise environments with animals.
