Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll ensure safe, fun environments while upholding company values in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct training sessions via phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
- Actively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and recognize team contributions.
- Follow policies, participate in Belonging culture, and act as training expert for store associates.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise/wet environments.
