Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of pet well-being. Based in Houston, Texas, you'll actively promote and conduct classes, ensuring safe, fun environments that drive customer loyalty and sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pet training sessions via in-person, phone, or online, managing parent experiences and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and clean training areas; ensure safety for all pets and people.
• Act as training expert for store associates, recognize contributions, and assist other departments.
• Respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
