Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive curriculum. This dynamic role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a fast-paced retail environment, ensuring safe, fun experiences for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart standards
- Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and by phone
- Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and outcomes professionally
- Maintain clean, safe training areas and respond to pet health emergencies
- Educate store associates as training subject matter expert
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
