Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision and curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while contributing to store success in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Actively sell and schedule training classes; educate on full curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, cleanliness, and safe environments for classes and store areas.
- Serve as training expert for associates; recognize contributions to pet training sales.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise/services, assist other departments, and follow policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, animal exposure, and moderate noise.
