Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of pet well-being. You'll actively promote our curriculum, ensure safe environments, and drive sales while collaborating across departments in our Houston store.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pet training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed, and assist other departments.
• Serve as training expert, recognizing associates for sales contributions.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
