Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences in a dynamic retail environment, acting as the store's pet training expert.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent expectations and concerns.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes to boost enrollment.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Recognize team contributions, assist other departments, and respond to pet emergencies.
• Uphold company policies and foster a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment.
