Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Accredited in our Training Instructor Course, you'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone to sell and conduct classes that transform pet behavior and strengthen bonds.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences and resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes across channels and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and ensure safe, clean training environments.
• Recognize team contributions, assist with sick/injured pets, and recommend merchandise.
• Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and foster a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a dynamic pet environment.
