Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Huber Heights store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training based on PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun classes that build lasting bonds.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, recommending vet care as needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recognize team sales efforts, and uphold company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
