Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Actively promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safe, fun environments while driving sales and customer satisfaction in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online to manage experiences and resolve concerns.
- Proactively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork, schedule classes, and keep areas clean/safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments.
- Act as training expert, recognize associates, and follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure essential. Flexible for evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
