Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Hurst, TX store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Accredited instructors like you educate on our proven curriculum, sell classes, and ensure safety while fostering store-wide enthusiasm for training services. This role blends animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic pet retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training classes, manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, and resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule classes while educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, keep areas clean/safe, and handle sick/injured pets.
• Serve as store training expert, recognizing associate contributions and cross-training others.
• Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
