Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training based on PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic retail environment. Expect flexibility with evenings, weekends, and holidays to serve our customers when they need us most.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training classes, ensuring safe, fun experiences for pets and owners.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and by phone.
• Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and outcomes via phone, in-person, or virtual sessions.
• Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas spotless.
• Recognize team contributions, assist other departments, and respond to pet emergencies like vet transports.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Organizational skills ensure smooth operations.
