Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of pet well-being. Based in Indianapolis, IN, you'll educate on curriculum benefits, sell classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes; educate on full curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, clean training areas, and create safe environments.
• Serve as training expert for associates; recognize sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, assist other departments, and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, organizational skills, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, pet handling in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments with occasional wet/mechanical exposures.
