Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive curriculum. You'll ensure safe, fun experiences in a dynamic retail environment, handling everything from class scheduling to emergency pet care.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
• Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on benefits across all levels.
• Maintain accurate records, clean training areas, and uphold store safety standards.
• Serve as training expert for associates, recognizing top performers.
• Assist with merchandise sales, cross-department support, and immediate action for sick/injured pets.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair exposure. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
