Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun experiences for dogs and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart standards.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and by phone.
• Maintain impeccable training areas, handle paperwork, and ensure pet safety.
• Respond to pet parent inquiries, resolve concerns, and educate on program benefits.
• Collaborate with store team, recognize top performers, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Must thrive under pressure, stay organized, and flex for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and handling live animals in a pet-filled environment.
