Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, you'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, ensuring safe, fun classes that drive loyalty and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions following PetSmart curriculum while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction.
- Actively promote and sell classes, educating on benefits and resolving concerns.
- Maintain records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
- Recognize team contributions, assist other departments, and respond to pet emergencies.
- Recommend merchandise and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication. Thrive under pressure with organizational skills and flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, handling pets, and working in dynamic environments with noise and pet hair.
