This entry-level role requires PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation and suits animal lovers with retail experience who thrive in dynamic pet retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging group and private training sessions for dogs, ensuring safety for pets and people.
- Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, via phone, and online.
- Handle pet parent inquiries, feedback, and emergencies like transporting sick pets to vets.
- Maintain accurate records, clean training areas, and collaborate across departments.
- Serve as training expert, educating store associates and recognizing top performers.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-facing retail experience, PetSmart Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and physical capability to lift 50+ lbs amid pet hair and moderate noise. Strong communication, organization, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and composure under pressure are essential. Exposure to live animals is daily.
