Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our Johnston, RI store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell our proven curriculum while ensuring safety and exceptional service in a fun, pet-filled environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
• Drive sales of training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Serve as training expert for store associates and recognize their sales efforts.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Thrive under pressure with flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and physical demands like lifting 50+ lbs in a pet-centric setting with moderate noise and animal exposure.
