Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at our Joliet store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and conduct classes using our proven curriculum, ensuring safety and satisfaction for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Drive sales of training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Serve as training expert for store associates and recognize sales contributions.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand extensively, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Exposure to animals, noise, and wet environments common.
