Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Kalispell store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. This role blends education, sales, and hands-on animal care in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun experiences that build lifelong customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions while actively selling classes and educating on curriculum benefits.
• Manage pet parent interactions, resolve concerns, and maintain all training paperwork and schedules.
• Create safe, clean training spaces; monitor pet health and transport sick/injured animals to vets as needed.
• Collaborate with store team as pet training expert, recognize sales contributions, and assist other departments.
• Uphold company policies, participate in recognition culture, and recommend merchandise/services.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
