Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Kapolei, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering expert training per PetSmart's curriculum. Uphold our vision by providing positive experiences, selling classes, and ensuring safety. This dynamic role blends education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a lively retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, and resolve concerns promptly.
- Proactively sell and schedule classes while educating on curriculum benefits; maintain all related paperwork.
- Create safe, clean training spaces; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vets as needed.
- Serve as training expert for store associates, recognize contributions, and cross-assist departments.
- Recommend merchandise/services and participate in our recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Seek 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure required. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
