Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. This role combines hands-on animal interaction, customer education, sales, and store support in a dynamic retail setting. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while ensuring pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell group/private training classes across channels.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and clean training areas for safety.
• Educate store associates as pet training expert and recognize sales contributions.
• Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services, and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Must excel in communication, organization, composure under pressure, and lifting up to 50lbs. Exposure to animals, moderate noise, and physical demands like standing/climbing is common.
