Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll be the local expert, ensuring safe, fun environments while contributing to store success in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead group and private training sessions, managing pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online.
- Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
- Handle pet health issues promptly, collaborating with vets as needed.
- Support store teams, recommend merchandise, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
