Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision. Actively sell classes, manage sessions in-store or online, and ensure safety. This dynamic role combines pet expertise, customer engagement, and sales in a fun retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage pet parents via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns and drive outcomes.
- Sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend products, and assist other departments.
- Recognize team contributions and follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, pressure-handling, flexible scheduling, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-filled setting.
