Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Kensington, MD, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive reinforcement training via PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and drive sales while contributing to store success. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
- Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and foster a culture of belonging.
- Serve as training expert, recognizing associates for sales contributions.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
